Gotta a French horn you’re not playing anymore? Donate it or any other unused instruments to student musicians in Walnut Creek schools

Not every student in the Walnut Creek School District who wants to play a musical instrument can play an instrument, due to a shortage of instruments that the district has available to loan.

Starting today, Murwood Elementary’s PTA, in collaboration with Sports Basement, is kicking off a month-long Musical Instrument Drive. The PTA is asking musicians to donate any string or wind instruments they no longer use. Don’t worry what shape the instruments are in; organizers of this drive will get them refurbished.

You can drop off your instruments at Sports Basement, at 1881 Ygnacio Valley Road, but the business, unfortunately, cannot take pianos, guitars, or drum sets. Sports Basement will offer a 10 percent discount on purchases for anyone who donates an instrument.
